Genetic Effects of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGF-A) and Its Association with Disease Progression in Breast Cancer Population of Saudi Arabia.
CONCLUSION: VEGF (-460T>C) TT genotype significantly increased the risk of breast cancer. VEGF-A (-460T>C) genetic ariability was significantly associated with distant metastasis of the disease. It may be a useful as predisposing genetic marker for breast cancer .Further studies with larger sample sizes are necessary to confirm our findings.
. PMID: 31983176 [PubMed - in process]

Endothelial Cell Proliferation and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Expression in Primary Colorectal Cancer and Corresponding Liver Metastases.
CONCLUSIONS: The absence of proliferative endothelial cells in half of the cases for the primary tumors and liver metastases in moderately differentiated carcinoma suggest a vascular mimicry phenomenon. The mismatch between the total number of vessels and endothelial proliferation in primary tumors indicate that a functional vascular network is already formed or the existence of some mechanisms influenced by other angiogenic factors. Breast Cancer Detection using Crow Search Optimization based Intuitionistic Fuzzy Clustering with Neighborhood Attraction
Conclusion: The experimental results show that the accuracy of the proposed method proves to be encouraging for detection of masses. Thus, it provides a better assistance to the radiologists in diagnosing breast cancer at an early stage. PMID: 30678427 [PubMed - in process]

Anti-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Effects of Sorafenib and Arsenic Trioxide in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Cell Lines
Authors: Haghi A, Mohammadi S, Heshmati M, Ghavamzadeh A, Nikbakht M Abstract Acute myeloid leukemia (AML), is a clonal disorder caused by acquired somatic mutations and chromosomal rearrangements. According to some evidence, progression of hematolymphoid malignancies depends on the induction of new blood vessel formation under the influence of acute leukemia. Various factors are produced by cancer cells under hypoxic conditions to increase vascular formation. Among these, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) plays a crucial role. Cytotoxicity and anticancer effects of arsenic trioxide (ATO) have been reported...

Lung Cancer Detection using Probabilistic Neural Network with modified Crow-Search Algorithm.
CONCLUSION: The
strategy for the selection of appropriate extracted features is employed to improve the efficiency of classification and
the work shows that the PNN with CCSA based feature selection gives an improved classification than without using
CCSA for feature selection. Comparison Analysis of Linear Discriminant Analysis and Cuckoo-Search Algorithm in the Classification of Breast Cancer from Digital Mammograms.
Conclusion: The results of comparative performance analysis show that the CSA classifier outperforms the performance of LDA in terms of breast cancer classification. PMID: 31450903 [PubMed - in process]

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGF-A) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) as Potential Biomarkers for Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Sri Lankan Study
CONCLUSIONS: VEGF-A gene expression, serum levels, and tissue VEGFR-2 levels correlated linearly with the stage and grade of the tumor. This study justifies the value of VEGF-A as a potential biomarker in OSCC in early detection of OSCC. More studies are needed to accept the use of VEGF-A.PMID:36708576 | DOI:10.31557/APJCP.2023.24.1.267
